Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

I wanted to try a large ship, my husband didn't so I took my daughter. Port Canaveral is 30 minutes from home, making the Oasis attractive.

We arrived at the Port at 12:30, checked our luggage and joined a long line that moved quickly. Another time I would plan to arrive later. The check-in process was very efficient, as a gold member we were directed to expedited check-in and quickly boarded. I really missed the small folding map/card holder that RC used to give out.

The ship is beautiful and was tastefully decorated for Christmas. As is often the case on arrival, the elevators were impossible so we went to the Schooner Lounge had a drink and waited and people watched until the lines dissipated.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D5

Cabin was adaquate, bed was very comfortable, adaquate closet space, adaquate. Balcony was nice, table and two chairs. Better than adaquate electrical outlets. Internet was the best I have ever encountered on a ship. It is available everywhere, extremely fast with no fade outs or drops. It is also sold by the day, out by the minute. I wish the cruise lines could devise a way to contact people in your party while on ship. If something changes communication is impossible. Maybe closed circuit cel phone service?

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Very smooth embarkation.

Nassau

Not a very attractive port. Been to Atlantis several times

St. Maarten

Not much to see, govt buildings, one nice ocean area.
