We have sailed the same itinerary twice now (Roatan, Costa Maya, Belize, Cozumel) and probably will avoid it in future.
Belize is pretty much a yawn after you've done the Mayan ruins excursion. The city is grubby and the port area shopping full of the usual suspects.
Costa Maya is improving, but there still isn't much to do other than beach-related and booze-related activities.
We always try to book an interior Porthole cabin (two portholes at the inside price) thus getting an outside view at an interior price. If there is a downside, it's that the cabins are on low decks and way forward.
We had a lot of space, a couch, and all the other amenities of an oceanview at a good bit lower cost. Every now and then, particularly during docking, there's some noise from the thrusters but it's not excessive and doesn't last long.
Our cabin steward, Ikhwan, did a fine job.
We like this type of cabin so well that we're booked for a B2B on Vista in the same category.
