My husband and I went on this cruise with my brother and my parents. We had a great time, and this was our first time all traveling together as a group. I will just start at the beginning, which was a bit rocky.

Embarkation: We stood in various winding lines for over three hours. Harmony of the Seas had the big Fort Lauderdale port and embarkation at the same time, so Freedom was pushed to the back of the cruise port area to an old port that was very messy and under construction. Other passengers in line with us said they had never encountered a cluster like the one we were stuck in on any previous sailing. It was later blamed on having too few Customs agents by the Cruise Director. I don't know if this was the case or not, but it sure was a pain to wait such a long time, and even RCL staff seemed stressed/bewildered and unsure where to direct us.

After we finally got on the boat, we were all happy with our rooms. Our luggage was finally delivered a few hours later. Our room steward, Merda, was great. No complaints. We had an early dining time in Leonardo's Dining Room. The five of us were assigned a great table with a big ocean view, and the service was SUPERB by Kenesha and YanFeng. They made us look forward to dinner each night. Food in the main dining room was good. Food in the Windjammer however....I did not enjoy the Windjammer. The choices were very greasy, heavy, and repetitive. We opted for pizza at Sorrentos a few times, but their pizza is more of a snack and not a meal.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin G

Cabin was small, but mostly enough space. My husband's biggest complaint was that there were ladders (made for pull down bunks in the ceiling) that were kept in the small closet. They came tumbling out on us many times when we tried to open the closet or move stuff around in there. There was no where else for them to go. Our room steward kept our room very tidy.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

I did not enjoy Fort Lauderdale.

Labadee

I don't think I would get off the boat here again if this were another port of call. Maybe just to take a dip in the ocean.

San Juan

I had had attended the shopping presentation on the ship so I had maps and knew where to go. We shopped a bit, and went to the Pigeon Park at the top of one of the main road hills. It was pretty cool to see.
