The Escape was our 6th cruise with NCL and our 9th cruise overall. Like with most vacations, we had some good and bad moments, here is a list of our experience. MENTIONABLE PROS: - Nice large kids splash pad with a kiddie water slide - Large kids pool (deep) with an adjacent wading pool - Casino slots were loose, especially certain machines - Casino has a non-smoking area - No complaints with the food at buffet, pub or Manhatten - All day free juice, coffee/tea, milk at Buffet - Complimentary continental breakfast room service - Oudoor promenade was fantastic with patios and bars - Big kids club, my kid had fun - Unlimited beverage package was very good and included premium booze. Prepare a list a drinks you want to try! MENTIONABLE CONS: - Large crowds everywhere, EVERYWHERE! O M G E V E R Y W H E R E - Surprisingly bad customer service from Guest Services to bartenders/servers, pool staff, & Room Stewards. Our room steward shared a lot of inside info with us - complaints of downsizing and layoffs in the industry and NCL. Staff are given random breathalyzers (which I agree with BTW) but he was complaining. There is a sense of low staff moral and it shows. Low crew members result in decline in service - Pool area is dirty - Large jewellery store but main gift store was small with limited items - Public washrooms are automatic flush only and many times the sensors do not work - Due to the crowds and limited elevators get used to using stairs - So many people on scooters!!! - NCL charges sales tax on booze even though you have the package. This is only while docked in Miami - Due to the unlimited drink package NCL has turned into a party boat - Supplimentary charges in dining rooms for filet mignon $19.99 and $24.99 for lobster tail dinners. This is not for the a la carte just the regular dining room. - Small main pool - $7.95 room service charge for lunch and dinner - Some pool area entertainment was LOUD. Extreme decibel, ear damaging level loud.

Cabin Review

Family Inside Stateroom
Cabin I1 9441
We had two rooms, one balcony and one inside.
- Balcony suites are a typical of NCL
- Balcony suite washroom is BIG with two sinks and almost normal size bath tub
- Beware of mid-ship inside cabins on the 9th floor as the live music will resonate into the
cabins until 11:30pm on certain nights. So loud that you can hear the words and feel the
vibration
- Room had very limited storage - normally there are storage all over the cabins, but not
this ship. No hooks in room.
- Mattress is horrible - ask for double mattress topper!
- Bunk bed mattress is even worse
- Family inside is small, very very very small. No seating area just beds. If you are four
average sized people, you will not enjoy this space
- When you push the single bottem beds together you will not be able to see the tv or sit up
in bed due to the bunk beds
