Let me start off by saying that I'm Diamond level on RC and have done many cruises on Oasis class ships. I love traveling on these ships and have experienced other lines as well such as Carnival, Princess, and Celebrity. This was the 4 day inaugural cruise out of Ft Lauderdale, Nov 4-7 2016. Did I like the new ship. overall, we were disappointed in the Harmony so instead of telling you all the good stuff like all the other Oasis ships have I’ll just hi-light what I thought were things that weren’t so good on the Harmony.

The overall look in the interior for the Harmony reminds us of a corporate office building. The colors throughout most of the ship are gray and wood paneling. The hallways were dark and gray. The entire ship was lacking brightness to it. It looked more like a lawyer’s office then a cruise ship. The artwork in the stairways was nice as usual but didn’t help with the overall look of the ship.

Deck 17, the top deck which holds the Viking lounge on almost all of the RC ships is gone and now exclusively for suite members only. The floor now contains suites, the Costal Kitchen and suite lounge so deck 17 is pretty much off limits for non-suite people.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Cabin - D2 Superior Ocean view with balcony. Traveling with 2 other couples in other D2 cabins. Big changes from previous Oasis class ships. On the positive side, many more outlets and USB ports for charging. No soundproofing. Noise! you can hear every word spoken in the adjacent cabins you will also hear the people above you walking and talking. In the bathroom you could have a conversation with the people in the next bathroom. Somebody decided to save money on soundproofing. Not good. Other changes, closets are smaller; Bathroom sink is so small it’s almost unusable. You’ll bang your forehead into the mirror trying to lean over the sink. Cabin doors open out into the hall instead of inward. This is a first. My guess is its some new safety rule. Balcony door, wasn’t fitted properly. The wind was whistling through and the curtains were moving. The whistling noise kept us awake at night. Called maintenance and after trying to fix the door the tech called for help and they had to remove the door to work on it out on the balcony. Our traveling companions had the same issues with their balcony doors.
