We took the 10 day Princess cruise from NYC to Quebec and had not been on Princess in quite a few years (our last trip being 10 days in the carribean on Princess). We selected this cruise because it was a relatively cheap one from NYC. Big mistake, we got what we paid for.

My overall impression was that Princess has declined since our last 10 day cruise. The ship was described to us by another passenger as a "Wal-Mart experience". The ship was apparently trying to save money by cutting corners on food and entertainment.

The food was mediocre. We ate in the main dining room the first night and the food---if it improved----might work its way up to a rating of "poor:. (I've had better meals at Cracker Barrel, which is not know for haute cuisine.) On our first and only night in the main dining room the food was not haute, it was not even hot. We should have been tipped off when the salad was pathetically small and consisted of old looking lettuce with 3 or 4 pathetic croutons. It looked like something you might try to palm off on a starving rabbit. We complained about the poor food and left, never to return to the main dining room.
