I wanted my family of seven to see the glaciers, wildlife and wonders of Alaska before global warming destroys it all, like the city of Barrows Alaska. I had cruised to Alaska on Norwegian before, had a wonderful time and felt comfortable to have the same experience, I am concerned that they may not afford this trip again. I listened to the stories of folks who worked hard to be able to cruise in their lifetime.
We traveled from the east coast and as a Latitudes member, I was told that someone would be there to help with the embarkation. No one was there to assist with "the cattle call" that was designed to give everyone access to my credit card. Not Happening. We are at Disney World every Christmas and they taught me never to do that.
On every cruise , they rush us on to get something to eat before sailing. On this cruise, we entered the ship to the announcement that all restaurants are closed until the safety demonstration is completed. The crew acted as if they had never done this. No one was sure where to send us. After several tries, we sat down in the theatre. I was scared on the entire cruise that we would die, if there was an emergency. I could not tell my family because I did not want to alarm them.
Our family cabin for four with oceanview was small, but we made it work. Our ship was over full and there were no exchanges possible. We loved looking out the window and watching the ship on television. Our steward brought ice, teapot and lots of towel animals. He did and excellent job with not much room to work in.
