Sail Date: Oct 2016

Our cruise included an area of the United States we had not traveled in before. We were most interested in the Lewis and Clark story as well as the beautiful scenery on the Columbia and Snake Rivers. We were very impressed with Bill, our "Riverlorian" - and appreciated his personal interest and learned a great deal from him about the area and Lewis and Clark. He and his wife, Laura, added a great deal to our experience.

The other entertainment was on a mediocre level. Most of the staff were very professional looking, and all were helpful and courteous. The young waitstaff in the dining room added greatly to the experience. They were well trained, courteous and friendly. We do feel the Cruise Company should provide lodging the night before the cruise if at all possible. However some passengers had a poor experience with this. We had made our own reservations at the hotel where the boat docked. The jet boat ride on the Snake River is a must for everyone. This was our second cruise with American Cruise Lines and we hope to travel with them again. We enjoy this laid back type of cruising, without the glitz and glamour the large ships offer.

We feel we should mention that we have taken great river boat cruises in Europe, which included our air fare, at a lower cost than American Cruise Lines (which did not include air fare).

Cabin Review

Cabin 3rd floor King bed

The cabin was clean and larger than most river cruise boats we have been on before. the bed was very comfortable. The young staff did an excellent job cleaning the room. Having access to a balcony was a real plus.
