just returned from a 4 night moreton island cruise with my partner, best mate and his wife on the p&o pacific pearl. it was a mostly enjoyable experience couldn't fault the room the service (our cabin stewards john and christie were very welcoming and friendly) and somehow remembered our names. and greeted us everytime they saw us the entertainment was pretty good too. as was the food in the waterfront restaurant and especially the salt grill that we treated ourselves to on the last night at sea. most reviews say that this place is expensive and bad value 3 courses of proper restaurant quality food was pretty damn good value if you ask me. another nice touch was the unexpected addition of the soft drink package to our cruise cards.embarking and disembarking both went smoother and quicker than expected even when boarding the tender boats for the shore excursion to the island. the only gripes i have was that everything had a closing time.and the cocktails were very weak especially for the price you are paying for them.

and there needed to be more clocks scattered around the boat. it makes it hard to know what the time is when you go in and out of a different timezone and dont wear a watch.

(i usually carry a phone but left it in the safe as i had no reception at sea anyway)

Cabin Review

Cabin ocean view state room

the cabin was clean and had everything my partner and i required.

the bed was really comfortable and combined with the rocking motion of the boat i slept like a log. only problem i had with the room was the tv was a little temperamental.

not a huge problem as there where better things to do than watch tv.
