After many sailings on Norwegian, I was open to try other Cruise lines so when my brother asked me to vacation with his family over Thanksgiving, it was the perfect opportunity to do so. RCI presents an image of an above average vacation experience and I looked forward to the trip. Then reality set in. The Anthem of the Seas is a beautiful ship with lots to do. Our Stateroom was very nice and the entertainment was top notch. The food was good however; this is where the negatives come in.

On Day one we confirmed that our reservations were in order with a table for 8 each night. The first three nights we stood in the middle of the restaurant waiting while they located a table for 8. Embarrassing and unsatisfactory.

The buffet also provided good food but it was apparently designed by either the Marx brothers or the three stooges! I stood in line 15-20 minutes for eggs to order only to find I had to join another line for bacon and sausage. Then a third line for toast at a station that was unmanned three straight days. Juice and water at one station and milk and coffee at another. One could spend an hour just retrieving your meal and then sit to eat it cold. One of the Chefs came to my table, apparently someone overheard me complaining, and he asked what was wrong and took detailed notes of my complaints then asked for my stateroom number and walked away. Never heard from them again.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Cabin was very nice with plenty of room and lots of storage space. Our Cabin Attendant was very good and very pleasant which proved to be an anomaly on this ship.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Traffic is horrendous, too small lots of traffic in a confined area.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

About a five mile walk from the ship, through the terminal and to the transportation area with no assistance for handicapped individuals.

Nassau

Shopping and a few drinks, nothing special. Been here many times.
