Sail Date: May 2009

My husband and I are seasoned cruise travelers but have not sailed with Princess in many years.  We drove from AZ to Seattle and overnighedt for 2 nights to see the city before the cruise.  We used Already There Limo for our transfer to and from the ship and they were great, on time, curtious and reasonable.  We arrived at Pier 91 around 1145a and were on the ship within a half hour.   The baggage check and the check in staff seemed to work pretty  efficient and we were on the ship without any trouble. We were confirmed in a mini suite on Dolphin Deck and found it to be very spacious. Miguel, the stewart, took very good care of our suite and anything we required.  We did ask for a top sheet for the bed and it was provided that same night. We chose to have anytime dining on this sailing as the Alaska port times are a bit unusual.  It was a great choice for us and we never seem to have trouble getting a table for 2.  However, I did find it hard to get a reservation and was always told they only had 6p or 8p  available.  We were never once asked to show our dining card so I don't think they restrict the dining only to anytime diners.  We found the food to be the best of any cruise we have taken in recent years.  The menu's offer good choices and the staff all were very helpful.  We had read some report saying the service in Capri and Portafeno was bad but we found the opposite to true. We did the horse trolley tour in Ketchikan, which we booked on our own.  We found it gave us a great informative tour of the town.  In Juneau, we booked a tour with Orca Enterprises for a whale watching trip which was great.  We saw lots of humpback whales, some Orca whales and Eagles.  We chose Orca as they offer a smaller boat of only about 25 people so they can get much closer to the action.  In Skagway we did the Sled Dog trip that Princess offered.  That was also very good and well run.  We did not get off in Victoria as we had been there before and needed some down time.Disembarkation was the same as any other ship, crowded and crazy.  If passengers would follow the ship directions it would flow better but that will never happen.I must end by saying this is one of the best cruises we have done and we picked a great weather week.  We are already planning our return to this beautiful state.

Cabin Review

Cabin D

Mini Suite on Dolphin deck was large and had a nice sitting area.  Deck was good size had a table and 4 chairs.  Would have preffered only 2 chairs and more room to move around.  Closet was large and had good amount of hangers.  Enjoyed the full tub and larger bathroom.
