Sail Date: Nov 2016

I'm 73 years old so my better cruising days are behind me. NCL is a good cruise line. We have sailed on several others cruise lines, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, and NCL is on par with those. We have taken about 14 cruises in the past 25 years. The cruise industry is nothing like it used to be. Just crowds and noise and sometimes outright rowdiness. Like any cruise, you have those passengers that drink too much and become mindless and thoughtless. Pointless yelling, howling and screaming. Many of the kids on board were better behaved than the adults. But cruising is still a good bargain and a good "bang for your buck." It's just not what it used to be!

My wife and I Sailed the Breakaway to the Bahamas Nov 20 through 27th. First the good news the specialty restaurants were very good. All of them. Good food. As I mentioned earlier my wife and I have been on about 14 cruises. We have sailed on NCL four times. We have not cruised in the past four years so we decided to sail on the Breakaway. Yes it was a holiday week (Thanksgiving) and we anticipated crowding. It was and it was loud. People everywhere.

For dinners, we had already set up reservations in the specialty restaurants. But beyond that everywhere you went were crowds and noise. Even some of the specialty restaurants are situated adjacent to bars and lounges. So you get crowd noise there also. Entertainment venues, other than main theatre were noisy and crowded with limited seating.
