The Epic was a very nice ship, however the process of doing anything on board needs improving. Checking in at Port Canaveral was a big gaum. There was absolutely no order and instructions from staff were confusing. Once on board, baggage was supposed to be delivered to our stateroom. 2 of our 4 bags were. I found the other two as I was walking to our room. They were placed at rooms in our hallway, but no where close to our room.
You aren't told with "Free Style" dining that you must make a reservation to eat in the main dining rooms or you will have to wait until a table becomes available. Getting off at ports of call was a confusing mess. There are not clear instructions on where to meet and times to get off. On ports where you have to tender in, you have to sign up to tender. Staff was not clear on instructions about tender times and places to meet. Not everyone who wanted to get off could.
We had the Ultimate Beverage Package. Evidently most people on the ship did. Lines at the Waves Bar and the H2O Spice Bar were horrendous. Bar staff were overworked and extremely unfriendly, almost rude. We were ignored on several occasions, even as we stood in front of them, trying to make eye contact when speaking did not do anything. The "swipe your card and no sign for a receipt" allowed someone else's high end liquor drink be charged to my room card. I stood in line 30 minutes on two occasions trying to get that straightened out at Guest Relations. Disembarkation at the end of the cruise once again was with little instruction on where to go at what time.
Very nice port, easy to navigate.
Very confusing as we tendered in.
Fun day in spite of rain and wind.
