This cruise was planned by my sister to celebrate both her 70th Birthday and her retirement with her family. In the course of a year her dream became a reality, reuniting her sisters and giving her sons and their growing families time to become acquainted while providing each a venue for entertainment and enjoyment. The water areas were in use constantly. The Kid Clubs gave the parents peace of mind, the kids loved them and the parents had quality time with other adults.
I, as an arthritic 68 year old, was a bit apprehensive about signing up for snorkeling on Coco Cay. Frequently, rental equipment is subpar which makes for a poor experience. The diving instructor at Coco Cay was amazing! His technique using "noodles' for head support was novel and reassuring in choppy seas. The snorkle and mask were topnotch, made of silicon and fit beautifully. I had the most fun in the water that I have had in years. The instructor would find and display local sealife for the snorklers. Starfish, seaslugs, conchs and even a lobster were found crawling beneath the colorful fish and coral. He also made certain to get his hungry guests back to Coco Cay in time for a tropical picnic!
My cabin was small, but perfectly adapted. There was adequate storage space in drawers and closets. I loved the virtual balcony...a large screen that displayed a video view in realtime from a camera on the bridgeI Like a TV, it could be turned off at will and had wave sounds if desired.
