We finally were able to try Holland America Cruise line on the Westerdam.

It was great leaving out of our hometown,San Diego, than to drive to Long Beach or Fly.

Embarkation-was a breeze,very organized-we arrived at 11am and were on the ship by 11:45.

Port Reviews

San Diego

Live here in SD-loved being so close to cruise.

Cabo San Lucas

Went off on our own-Drinks and excellent food at Giggling Marlin!

Mazatlan

Hired a driver-Took us to the Old Town-first visited the famous church, beautiful, then went to the lovely, quaint area 2-3 blocks away...(if your facing famous church, continue left on that Benito Juarez (?)street to 'Constelation Street'(?)..nice plaza with Mayan dancers and cafes, restaurants, shops. We then went on the Malecon(along the coast) great shops, ate at LAS FLORAS hotel right on the beach, food was good, yet pricey, but the ocean view and the hotel grounds were cool. ..(behind the church,is a lovely park too).

Puerto Vallarta

Very green, pretty city...we went to the other side of the port, next to another cruise ship, and that's were we found the quaint shops and eatting places we visited before.Store people are extremely pushy tho! lol...at time it got funny..
