Having been on 3 other cruises with NCL i wanted to give the Epic a shot when i seen it was coming back to the USA. We booked while we were still on the Escape for our annual November cruise. There was 6 of us who all booked and went on this trip. Well let me first start off with the ports of call this ship was sailing to were the typical same thing that NCL goes to. They never change anything up we visited Tortola St Thomas and we were going to visit NCL's Private island in the Bahamas. Due to the Hurricane NCL notified us that we would instead be stopping at Nassau in place of there private island. This was a MAJOR let down being that was the one reason we decided on the Epic over the Escape. On the first day we had problems getting to the Port. We used Go Port Canaveral to book the hotel and transportation to and from the ship. The shuttle never did come we ended up having to take a Uber to the port, when we got to the port the lines were HUGE to get on this ship. They only had 4 securtity check points open which backed everything up. It took us 2 hours to get on the ship once we were dropped off. NCL didn't wait for all the passengers to do the muster drill they did it before we even had a chance to get on the ship. When we finally got on board the ship everything was packed. You couldn't get to a bar if you tried. The buffet was closed and the little outside buffet they had there was a huge line of people waiting to eat. When we finally got to the bar to get a drink the workers were anything but happy, you could tell they were either over worked or just overwhelmed. The liquor they had on the boat was in short supply, i drink spiced rum and half the bars didnt even carry that... How do you go on a cruise to the Caribbean and not have spiced rum? The free at sea promotion might seem like a good idea but its not when you consider the amount of people on the ship all trying to do the same thing. For example the specialty meals were included on our cruise, but you couldn't get into any of them unless you had a reservation. We tried to make reservations while on the ship and was told most of the ones we wanted to go to were booked full. The Buffett was the most unorganized i have ever seen, they were closing it down by 2pm everyday. There was no food to eat at night unless you wanted room service or bar food from O' Sheehans. As far as entertainment i have never been on a ship where we were bored. During days at sea they were going so fast that they closed the water slides down, the EPIC didnt have any fun things to do like they did on the escape last year. In the casino the slot machines looked like the seen better days the top half of the machines were not even working like they do not maintain anything. I could keep going on and on but im sure if you have read this far you get the point. This ship has its issues but i dont think NCL is doing anything to address them. Free at sea is nice but im not going to pay all this money for a cruise and not be able to do anything because of it!

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony

Cabin B1

Rooms are Very small, no privacy when using the shower or toilet. Beds were hard. Chairs on the balcony were worn they looked like you could fall thru them.

Port Reviews

Tortola

Not much to do here. We did an island tour with the local people. The highlight was they took us to the side of the island where if you have AT&T you can make calls.

St. Thomas

Love St. Thomas the only thing was we left there very early didn't have time to do anything.

Nassau

Nothing to do here, we went to Atlantis but they want to charge you just to look around. So then we went to Margaritaville for lunch. I ordered a coke and it was full of ants. We left there and took a taxi back to the port, the locals were trying to sell us drugs we had to run back to the ship! NCL needs to Skip Nassau!
