Just a quick review of our first transatlantic crossing from Southampton on 10th Nov.

embarkation was painless, quick and efficient. Balcony cabin in midship, starboard side was always spotless and our attendant was always helpful and so cheerful. This was a plus point. We had paid for the 5 speciality dining package and as we had recently sailed with NCL 4 weeks prior was expecting great things. Sadly apart from Giovanis, which was by far our best meal on board, the rest sadly failed to hit the mark. The rest of the time we ate in the main restaraunt, apart from one evening when we arrived back later than expected in NY and opted for the windjammer. First off the main dining room. Food was at best average, but more often tasteless and lukewarm.not what we expected at all. The windjammer food was awful, school dinners. The evening we sat at Chopps grill whilst the Tuna was lovely it came with frozen chips and the melting in the middle chocolate cake was so over cooked it was like a dry sponge. Service tho I will add at main and specialist restaraunt a was always good.

Entertainment was poor. Maybe it was geared up for a slightly older clientele I am not sure . When they did manage a show on the promenade , it was good fun but not utilised enough, except for sales of all types of rubbish. Maybe I am not a big shopper , but I didn't want to sift through mounds of handbags to save £5.
