Much better theater than the Vista. The decor is dated and very similar wallpaper as the Splendor. Jase the cruise director is very good as his support staff. Our room steward was a little below average, but I think that the onus is more on Carnival for increasing the amount of rooms they have to clean. He asked us if we wanted morning or evening service and we asked for both and received it, but a little slow in the morning. The dinning service was better than Carnival has provided in the last two years. It was prompt and efficient. Our server's name was Myra and I can recommend her. The food was nothing to write home about. We went to the steakhouse one night and the food quality and service was excellent. Our itinerary was Roatan, Belize and Cozumel. Roatan had an oil slick. The ship smelled like oil and the waters around the ship had an oily sheen. I wished that we hadn't docked there and either substituted another port or if unable, another sea day.
Nice cabin, but like most interior cabins, kind of small.
I've been to this port before and liked it. This time, however, there had been an oil spill and the area around the ship and the ship itself smelled like oil.
We did not take an excursion in New Orleans. We stayed 1 night before the cruise and 3 nights after. We visited the WW II Museum, the US Mint and Louisiana Museum and stayed in the French Quarter.
