Sail Date: Nov 2016
Cabin: Promenade Stateroom

We booked this cruise with 5 other friends in 3 other rooms. Grand total of 3 Promenade rooms and 1 aft corner balcony. (The balcony was 1400 and was huge but had a huge pole in the middle of it... so if that's an issue, be aware).

We had never been on Royal Caribbean before except for the 2 in the balcony. They were previously on Independence and said the changes between the two were great.

As I mentioned, we have been on over 30 cruises and had just never gotten around to Royal. Hadn't avoided it for any reason, it just never worked with other cruise plans we had up to this point.

BEN AND JERRY'S SWEET! The room was great, the cow decor was a humorous touch and the free ice cream was utilized 5 of the 7 times. We didn't use the Suite Lounge as the biggest perk would have been free drinks in the afternoon (if we understood correctly) and we already had the beverage package, So why did I give it 4 out of 5 if it was great? A few things: 1) Water never got COLD and smelled like well water. We refused to drink it once we noticed it but up until that point both the faucet and shower never got colder than "body temperature". We asked them to take a look at it and the replaced the whole part of the shower where you turn it on, adjust the temp etc (new one looked way never and less confusing... you're welcome) but it didn't help the temperatures. 2) Interactive TV never worked. As a result we always had to stand in line at guest services to check our onboard bill, etc and never ordered room service because we had no clue what the options were. Not even sure what else they may have shown on there. Supposedly it was looked at and "fixed" but nothing changed. 3) These promenade rooms are REALLY small. We actually moved both nightstands to the side of the room closer to the bathroom to get a little more space at the entrance. I'm not tiny but had the shower been any smaller it would have been very difficult.
