We had an AFT cabin on Baja deck.  This was an upgrade from low-end balcony stateroom several weeks before sailing.  Lost 2 square feet due to beam, but it was by no means a "deal killer".   View was fine. Would take it again.

Toured USS Iowa in port next to Ruby Princess.  Interesting but would not recommend

Here are some pros and cons:

Pros:  Upgrade to aft balcony cabin @ no cost

           Food was an A- (my vote) or B+ (wife's vote)

           Cabin attendant (Francisco) was very attentive

           Smooth seas

           Cruise director was everywhere and generally funny

            Intranet on ship using iPhone was very good

Cons:  Horizon cafe was crowded often; bumped into other cruisers

           Pizza and soft serve ice cream lines were usually long

           Theater entertainment was a B; just one real live performance (music)

           Enrichment programs (lectures) limited

           Wife thought the floor vibration was distracting; maybe due to aft position?Here is the rankings:

   #1 - NCL 21 day east and west Mediterranean

   #2 - Princess 17 day Panama Canal from Vancouver

   #3 - NCL 7 day west Mediterranean 

   #4 - Princess Ruby 7 day Mexican Riviera (cruise being reviewed)

   #5 - Oceania 10 day Alaska; food was overrated

 This cruise on the Ruby Princess was perhaps too short which influenced our rating.
