We chose this cruise on internet reports that Celebrity Solstice is an upmarket experience in cruising. The cabin was good. The crew were good. The shipboard experience was a let-down. No coin laundry; a debacle in tendering at Bay of Islands where it took us over 3 hours to get on a tender. (Improved in later ports); main Dining Room food was a huge disappointment. Overcooked meals. Many dishes tasteless. We purchased a 5 night specialty Restaurants package. Murano and Tuscan Grille were excellent in menu, food, and service. Silk Harvest Asian Restaurant was a disaster - dried out whole fish, long overcooked duck breast. Drink prices on board were over the top!! Repeat Celebrity Solstice cruise guests reported that the standard of the ship was way below previous cruises. Another huge annoyance to a lot of cruisers was the expulsion from the only seaview lounge on the ship at 5pm to allow private access to a "higher paying" class of guest. No more Celebrity!!
