Majesty is showing its age. I know that. But I used to enjoy Monarch of the Seas (Majesty's sister) and Majesty had just been moved nearby to my home. I figured that I could enjoy the sea and do some work and some studying while gaining a tan at the same time.
I booked a Guaranteed ocean view and was assigned 8504. If you are reading this in late 2016 or early 2017 and you are assigned this stateroom, CHANGE YOUR ASSIGNMENT IMMEDIATELY. The reason I am leading my review off with this note is that this cabin has a mold problem that made me very sick, very fast. Guest Relations onboard did NOTHING, and it took me emailing pictures of the problem to Royal Caribbean's Facebook page to get my cabin changed. Still, even with Miami's help, it took two days. By that time, I had a headache and a horrible sore throat. On the third day, I started coughing up phlegm. It is now a week later, and the coughing of phlegm is just now dissipating - not the souvenir I wanted from my vacation (nor did I want the added expense of having to visit my doctor!). While I can't upload the pictures here, you can find them at the Royal Caribbean C&A Group Facebook page.
Cabins 8500-8510 also have a rhythmic thumping noise that becomes pretty annoying after a while. Imagine your neighbor playing a song of 120 beats per minute over and over again with the deep thumping bass coming through your walls. This is what the cabin was like. Annoying for an hour. Not acceptable for four days.
SAFETY HAZARD! Avoid this stateroom at all costs! There is a terrible mold problem in this cabin that made me sick!! (As of November, 2016).
I didn't take an excursion, but I very much like the port here. Embarkation and debarkation are easy.
