We believed all the marketing hype about the Britannia, but boarding on deck 4, felt like getting on via the cargo hold. After finding our way to the atrium, we felt so deflated, Is this it ? so bland, characterless and certainly no atmosphere compared to other ships. I appreciate the decor is modern, but its so dull and boring, this theme continues throughout the ship.
Its quite obvious that the ship is run on KPI spreadsheet results and profits, Guests come well down the pecking order, you will soon get used to the term " for a small cover charge"
We chose freedom dining and was disappointed at the quality and lack of consistency of the food, I didn't expect, frozen chips, peas and a small pot of baked beans with a breaded chicken portion ! on other nights though it was was fantastic. The Limelight menu is not worth the £22 extra and although they say you have a table for the night to drink and dance, in reality you leave as soon as possible after the act finishes and there are no toilets, the closest are a fair walk.
Adequately sized, functional rather than elaborate, kept spotlessly clean by the steward. The restricted view is caused by the top of the tender, which prevents looking directly down, but as the tenders are on the outside of the sip, all the rooms above them suffer the same, so dont be put off, it will also be a bit cheaper.
