We sailed on Oasis of the Seas last spring and returned to Royal Caribbean to celebrate our birthdays on its sister ship, Allure of the Seas. These ships are Las Vegas on water- extraordinary feats of engineering with separate areas like Central Park-a botanical garden onboard, a bar that rises through four floors, an ice skating rink with elaborate shows, a multi media aquatic extravaganza with high divers, acrobats, synchronized swimmers, and a complete Broadway show, "Mama Mia." In fact, the greatest attraction of these ships is the entertainment. Where other cruise lines are cutting back productions (some only lasting 30-40 minutes), the Oasis line offers all kinds of venues, clubs, game shows, even street parties like a disco dance party with everyone joining in the fun, and parades for children of all ages. Every age here is welcome with lots to entertain everyone.
The food in the dining rooms and cafes is excellent.
The only suggestions for improvement are on embarkation and disembarkation days when the large number of passengers overwhelms ship's crew and customs agents. Better organization is needed to speed up the flow of traffic.
Since we are seniors and on a budget we got a last minute deal for an inside cabin and were very happy with the quiet, cleanliness and darkness for a good night's sleep. Since we spent time in the cabin only to shower and sleep, we were satisfied with what we got for the price.
