This was our first cruise but certainly won't be the last! We were so impressed with the whole experience. It's all we hoped for and that was accomplished because of the attention to detail by NCL and it's staff and standards of excellence in all regards. We really enjoyed the freestyle approach to all aspects of the cruise. I don't know what the stiffer more rigid cruises are like...but this one really hit the spot. We could pack lighter by only needing casual clothes and we could feel totally relaxed because we were not burdened with any kind of schedule. We loved the pick at choose, at a moments notice, what we were going to do or eat next. It fit our personality of travel to a T. If there were any negatives they are minor. The check-in at the terminal took way longer than it needed too so it was good everyone was patient. It's because people did not stick to their assigned time and tried to jump ahead so that overwhelmed the amount of staff available. It was only 30 minutes or so extra but unexpected. The only other improvement that needs to happen( and its supposed to next year) is the gym equipment was in need of repair. If you wanted a treadmill you were in luck but the other types of equipment (bikes, climbers) were tempermental at best. But with the view....a treadmill was fine. I think the price of internet connection is a bit much in this day and age. The cabin was in excellent shape and the service tremendous. We always had fresh ice, always great conversation with the steward (so helpful-pointing out things like the fish in the pattern of the carpet in the hall have purpose- yellow fish face forward, red fish face aft) , the balcony was so worth the extra cost. The bed and pillows were superb as was the pressure in the shower (a husband pet peeve). We saw every evening show offered and while they are not Disney spectacle quality they are certainly entertaining and enjoyable. There are some talented entertainers on this ship. We loved that there was something for everyone on board. The party animals were happy but didn't interfer with us chillaxers. As people have said the best part is the food, they are not wrong. It is as close to fine dining as you can find. The wait staff is very detailed oriented and well trained. The dining rooms have a pleasant ambience. The food is served in perfect quantities and there is such a wide variety from which to choose. Our favorite was the Volcano in the Summer Palace and Indigo and the brownie/cheesecake at O'Sheehans. YUM! The speciality restaurants were over the top and reasonably priced but we didn't feel impressed to use them as the complimentary dining was so fine. With only one port call, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, this was a cruise about being at sea. That was fine for our tastes and need to just relax. Jamaica was interesting and we enjoyed the people there. We felt safe as we walked to town and explored. The excursions didn't really appeal to us but there are plenty and there are lots more offered by locals when you get off the boat. Other than shopping there is little else to do in Ochos Rio, there's only a tiny little accessible beach. Good news the boat is more empty and quiet so a plus if you never leave the ship. We will now be avid cruisers and NCL will be high on our list. The service and quality of everything will bring us back. And the Volcano!

Casual, comfy and oh so relaxing!

Cabin BX 9556
This is a great cabin with plenty of storage, a great bed and pillows and a perfect location. It's just forward of midship so there was very little movement at sea. The bathroom had great water pressure and the service was always perfect.
