Caribbean Get Away Cruise From Galveston

We have sailed on over 30 cruises with multiple lines including NCL, Carnival, Princess, HAL, Celebrity and RCCL. I am going to cover things in my review that I would look for when reading other reviews.
My husband and I are in our late 60s and cruised with two other senior couples from our community. We live about 6 hours away from Galveston and drove in the day of the cruise. We parked at EZ Cruise parking near the port and used their shuttle to and from the lot to the ship. We were happy with their location and service.
We parked at 12:45 and breezed through the embarkation hall onto the ship. We are D+ but all the lines seemed to moving smoothly. We rolled all our bags on and were able to get in our cabin immediately.
Cabin Review
Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony
Our cabin was a D balcony mid ship. The D balcony on the Freedom class is the largest and best laid out of any balcony cabin in the RCCL fleet in my opinion. There was very good storage with plenty of drawers and extra shelves in the closet. I really like the cubby shelves behind mirror doors in the vanity area and in the bath room. There was a long full sofa. The shower had solid doors instead of a curtain, a clothes dryer line, and a shower head could be used as a hand held sprayer. The balcony was a good size with wall to wall sliding glass doors and a see through barrier for a great ocean view.
