I'm going to say this cruise was excellent despite anything going on around the ship. Reason being, it didn't affect my experience at all.

Embarkation Day: I was supposed to board at 10:30am but because of supplies the ship needed for construction, we were delayed to 1:30PM. Carnival however contacted us prior and when I arrived early, I received a voucher for breakfast at a local restaurant. It was nice and helped kill some time. Thumbs up on that one. -- We were suppose to leave the port of Miami to set sail at 4PM but we were delayed leaving until after 10PM due to safety paperwork problems. This effected our itinerary in a POSITIVE way. We were heading to Key West. We were only going to be there from 7AM to 1PM, however, because of the delay, we then got scheduled for 10:30am to 3PM...... Good news however, we arrived at 9AM and were able to get off the ship at 9:30am and we didn't leave until 3pm, so we scored some bonus time in Key West which was really nice.

Port 2: Cozumel, went as planned. Great little island.
