I chose this cruise because I had to fly to Sydney to embark and would be using Tullarmarine Airport in Melbourne-both of which I'd previously used over 30 years before, so many changes.
I added a 3 night stopover in Adelaide, my State Capital, and 3 nights in New South Wales with my cousins and an overnight stopover in Melbourne, the disembarkation port, so away for 10 nights.
Because I use a Rollator for mobility, I opted for Assisted Embarkation, which was the right decision. I was provided with a wheelchair, someone brought my Rollator and I was guided through the Embarkation process and brought directly to my Window Suite. Princess Cruises offered me the option of Assisted Disembarkation at Station Pier in Melbourne, which was of great help. I was being met by a friend but couldn't access the shuttle-too tired and stiff to be able to safely climb aboard, so the helpers-1 pushing me and the other handling my 2 cases, took me up the road to the entrance. My friend had phoned me, and when she saw us approaching-I was on the mobile to her, confirmed, "I have you in sight!" We gratefully thanked my assistants who helped load the luggage and cheerfully left us.
Very comfortable. I found the lower hanging rail in the cupboard very easy to reach, although I didn't need to hang up any clothing, the facility is very useful.
The bed was really comfortable, even when Bass Strait seemed to be rough with the ship rolling side to side and rocking forward and backwards, I felt stable and snuggled down to sleep peacefully.
The fold-down seat in the shower is really helpful-I could get the water to the right temperature, then sit down and enjoy my shower in absolute safety. Plenty of towels and lovely Suite toiletries-I felt very pampered.
I did keep bumping my lower legs on the base of the table but I do have very poor judgement of distance. I knew about the problem and still kept making the mistake!
