We chose this cruise because it had been a few years since we had been on a cruise since we are new parents. We wanted a shorter cruise and didnt want to be away from our little one too long. This was Freedom of the Seas final Port Canaveral embarkation and it was only 5 days. We also liked the fact that it was over halloween as we have never done a halloweeen cruise. The embarkation went as smooth as can be. We were one of the first ones on the ship. Having been on freedom 4 times we knew the entire ship so there was no need to explore. We went straight to the pool deck. We hung out for a few hours with a Lava Flow in hand and soaked up the beautiful weather.

We ate in the MDR every evening and had some of the best service I have ever had. Adrian was our waiter, and Gang was our assistant waiter. They could not have done a better job. The food was average, it seemed to be the same old thing on the menu year after year. The portions seemed to be a little smaller but I am sure its very difficult to prepare meals for 4000 guests. One night I was able to order the Chops Filet in the MDR for a small upcharge and it was perfect. We ate at sabor for lunch on a sea day it that was amazing. The food they give you is way more than the average person can eat. The margaritas were some of the best weve had.

They had a really fun halloween parade with a lot of people dressed up. This was really fun. I was sad that the 70's party was 15 minutes after the halloween party so there wasnt time to change clothes. Overall the the cruise was amazing and the staff is 2nd to none. We will cruise RCL again soon.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

This is by far my favorite cabin. There is plenty of room, more than enough storage space and the balcony is as big as the room. Great place for naps.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We just walked around the town and did some shopping. We had lunch at margaritaville. The food was a little expensive especially since the added 25% to the bill for US currency. It made 2 cokes and 1 order of nachos 36.00 after tip.

Cozumel

In cozumel we rented a car and toured the island. We rented from Alamo rentals right at the pier. I was a little skeptical at first but everything worked out well. We paid for the Full insurance and also additional 15.00 to not have to worry about filling the gas tank when done. I didnt want to be running short on time and miss the ship because i couldnt find a gas station. We went to paradise beach club where the atmosphere was relaxing and the food was amazing. We also stopped at Coconuts on the east side of the island and that was really nice to. great views and had chips and guac.
