Sail Date: Oct 2016
Cabin: Concierge Class 3

We chose this cruise because of the variety of different ports.

Overall we were pleased with the cruise apart from the select dining.

We booked concierge class and were meant to have priority dining in the main dining room. Upon ringing up as requested from 0900 we were told that we could only book a table up to 17.45 and after 20.45. An evening period therefore of 3 hours when we could not book a table. We were advised we could take our chance and just turn up. We did this on a couple of occasions and were given a buzzer which resulted in waiting at least 40 mins in the nearby bar. Thus meaning we missed getting a seat in the "late" show at 2100. On a couple of occasions we went to the early show which was half empty. For shows we really wanted to see we ended up going to the self service cafeteria which we have never previously used in the evening as we like the formal main dining room.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 3

Cabin C3

The cabin itself was good but the attendant did not clean all areas and kept forgetting items. The shower gel wasn't refilled but we ended up with 3 body lotions. One day the daily activities sheet was missing, the next napkins for the fruit, some days the towels were forgotten. However towards the end of the cruise he was replaced by a different attendant and we were told the original attendant had gone home.

Port Reviews

Positano (Amalfi)

We stopped at Salerno which is ok and walked to the gardens of Minerva on the hillside.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

We stayed in Rome the day before and used the hop on hop off bus. We then took a taxi to the port to save using the train and port buses. Not much at Civitavecchia.

Taormina (Messina)

We used the hop on hop off bus to see most of the main sites. Finished at the main square to see the astronomical clock.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

We walked to the cathedral and through the town which was quite pleasant for a few hours.

Cartagena (Spain)

Although raining we walked to the Roman theatre and castle which were very interesting.

Lisbon

We used the hop on hop off bus which was very good and then we walked up to the castle. Many places of interest.

Ibiza

We walked up to the old town which was ok.

Seville

Hop on hop off bus again and then walked round the town of Cadiz which was very nice.

Barcelona

We walked to Barcelonetta which was very interesting.

Toulon

We took a tour to Aix en Provence. This involved a short walking tour and only an hour free time. We could have done with more time here as this is a lovely town.
