My husband and I have been on many ocean cruises, but we wanted to experience a River Boat cruise. Traveling in France seemed like the perfect opportunity as the smaller ship enabled us to stop at ports that were out of reach for a larger ship. We were very impressed with Avalon - the ship, the amenities, the crew - all excellent. The included walking tours of every little town along the way were wonderful. The local guides spoke English very well and shared such interesting info about the town, the history, the locals...really anything we asked about. The food on the ship was excellent and we liked that local wines were offered along the way and included with dinner. I really liked that there were less than 120 passengers on the ship. We got to know everyone by sight, and many by name. Very different from a large ship where you can get lost in the crowd. Overall, our trip was amazing and we would definitely like to cruise with Avalon again.

Cabin Review

Outside Stateroom with French Balcony

Our cabin was lovely. We had a nice little sitting area and the bathroom was new, modern and very nice. There was plenty of storage space and we enjoyed opening the sliding glass door to enjoy the great outdoors and beautiful scenary.
