We sailed for 21 fabulous days, on back to back cruises. As the cruises began and ended in Venice, we had extra time there so did spend $ on pre or post stays in Venice. We decided to put that money into a second cruise, which worked out perfectly, no need to change cabins, and only one repeat port (Athens - where we went to Corinth instead). To get to the cruise from the Marco Polo airport you can take bus 7 to Piazza Roma, and then the People Mover to Maritima port. We got there early and they served refreshments while you waited. Boarding seemed to be in order of how long you'd been waiting, which is a good system, and began about 10:30. We like this smaller ship much better than the larger Allure of the Seas we were on last year. There were no line ups and plenty of seating in the theatre for shows each evening. We really enjoyed the variety of entertainment - musical, comedy, acrobatic ... Also the before dinner musicians in the Centrum were lovely. We did not try the specialty restaurants. They did not appeal to us when we peeked in - prefer lively atmosphere of main dining room, and thoroughly enjoyed our meals and top notch service there. We usually ate breakfast in the Windjammer Cafe, which was often hectic and understaffed, so they would frquently run out of things. The food was very good though and coffee was decent. They had just about every breakfast food imaginable! It was annoying that they did not open early enough on the early port days. We were very rushed when you had to meet early for an all day excursion. They need to coordinate these times better. We were in oceanview cabin 2510, a quiet location. Our room had ample storage space and was kept spotlessly clean. We hardly spent any time there so we didn't need to spend more for a balcony. We were very pleased with all the ship's excursions we went on. We saw that one bus came back late but the ship waited for them, so it's nice to have that peace of mind. In some ports we just did our own thing, and never regretted it - there is always so much to see just walking around these old cities. The weather was fantastic too - not too hot at this time of year. The animation team was excellent- always organizing dances, games, conmpetitions etc. You could partake, or just watch, as you choose. Some reviews said the ship looked old but we didn't think so, but right after our cruises the ship was dry docked to install new carpeting. Highly recommend these itineraries - Greece, Croatia, Turkey - as the title says, its was all completely fabulous!

Cabin Review

Cabin 2510
Our cabin was nice, nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. There was loads of storage space, and we received extra hangers and facecloths upon request. There were no lotions etc but I bring my own anyway. We liked our quiet location on the second floor. The bed was comfortable and they provide hard and soft pillows. Everything was kept spotlessly clean.

  • Corinth Canal by Boat
Since we were on back to back cruises, we stopped at Piraeus twice. One stop we did the Acropolis and The Acropolis museum, which are must do's. On our repeat stop we chose the Ancient Corinth and Canal Cruise, which we greatly enjoyed . They served a nice local lunch on the cruise too. The drive did not seem to take long to get there and our excellent guide pointed out so many interesting things along the way.

  • Olympia Archeological Tour
We were pleased with our guide's expertise. It was cool to see the site of the first Olympics. However, in hindsight, -0after 21 days of cruising we realized those ruins were the least impressive ones we saw, but of course we did not know that at the time and did enjoy our day.

  • Ephesus
Ephesus is truly amazing - the most impressive ruins you will ever see!! Our guide was fantastic. There was a brief caroet demonstration at the end, we only stayed briefly to enjoy the delicious complementary pastry drinks, and then went shopping in Kusadasi. Thie keather market is not to be believed - good prices if you bargain a bit, and they sure do love to bargain! We found Turkey to be a lovely clean country- there was none of the disgusting tagging marring lovely buildings as we saw everywhere in Greece. The People were friendly and hospitable too.

  • Venice
Venice is a great city to just wander around in, you don't need to take an excursion, although we did use the ship's shuttle service to get to town you don't need to pay for a Grand Canal excursion as our shipmwentbdiwn it anyway. We went in some of the churches we came across, and even into St Marks basilica as the line up was not that long on that day.
