Overall this cruise was excellent. I would have rated it a 4.5 but the system only allows a 4 or 5. Our previous cruising is primarily with Regent Seven Seas (we appreciate the all inclusive aspects which made Scenic appealing). This was a part of a 17 day journey with Scenic, so I will provide a separate post with the other part. Before getting to the ship itself, the staff were what make this trip. Our tour director, Mao was outstanding, Paula the cruise director and Joyce the hotel manager were excellent and the rest of the staff tried very hard to make you feel very comfortable. Almost all of the staff on the ship were Cambodian and were very gracious and kind. The other two reviews were accurate describing the ship itself.

Our trip was not sold out as there only 48 passengers. Most were Aussie (a very fun loving group), UK and Canadian. We were the only Americans on our cruise (the first time we have experienced that). Overall the tours and local tour guides were very good, the local entertainment was worthwhile. Two of the programs supported youth programs including the circus one night. I applaud Scenic for supporting these programs in the communities where they sail.

In addition to the cold towels they offer when you return from tour, they offer to clean your shoes as well. Also, for those those men over a certain age, they always found clean bathrooms on the tours! The only reason I didn't rate the cruise a 5 was the food. The food was appealing and plentiful. The breakfasts and lunches were buffet with fresh choices and variety. We found the dinners to be average. The offered menus were good, but out of the seven days, there was not one dinner that we said "wow" that was excellent. It was solid, not for a lack of trying, perhaps our expectations were too high. Due to the terrific staff, well appointed ship, etc. I would not hesitate to recommend the Scenic Spirit to anyone considering a Mekong river cruise.
