This ship is too big, but the destinations are nice.

Sail Date: Oct 2016

I chose this cruise because of the days in port versus the days at sea. The first whole day was at Nassau, Bahamas, then a day at sea, the third day was a Costa Maya, Mexico, the fourth at Cozumel and the final full day was at sea. The weather in late October/early November was rainy and sometimes stormy (except for the last two full days of the cruise). That said, there are a LOT of people (approx. 5500) stuck indoors on this ship with only a limited space to go to be protected from the weather and the problem is, there is no where for them to go.

The space allocation on this ship is geared towards the outdoors, which is awesome if the weather is good. Outside you can find a Central Park with trees, several pools and whirlpools, a track, a place to surf man-made waves, rock climbing, a basketball court, a miniature golf course, ping pong tables, a basketball court and more. However, on the inside, the theater is large, but everything else is REALLY small compared to the passenger count and always is overflowing. For instance, I went to an art auction in the schooner bar and there was no place to seat everyone.

Furthermore, there were always lines to enter the Windjammer Café if you decided not to go there extra early or extra late. I tried the other venues like they want you to, but the food was cold in those places. The menu was similar to another cruise I had been on (Enchantment of the Seas), but not as tasty nor as fresh. Good luck not standing in line for a show or to play bingo!

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Fort Lauderdale is all about the beach. If the weather is nice, get there a few days ahead and enjoy the water!

Cozumel

What a fun place. We played it by ear and wound up having a party in Conzumel! Be sure to check out Senor Frogs! There is a small one (1/2) at the pier but a larger one in town. Explore and shop!
