Our family (parents, kids, grandkids) always travels together.  Have cruised to Mexico, Alaska, New England/ Canada with Princess; Hawaii with NCL, and most recently to the Eastern Caribbean with RCL on the Liberty of the Seas.  We liked NCL's Spirit of America, and we loved our three cruises on Princess.  We thought we'd try Royal Caribbean, becauses we thought a change might be fun, and had read very positive reivews about the Freedom class ships.  Our Seven days on the Liberty of the Seas was absolutely fantastic!  We loved our ship; it was beautiful, it was fun, it was exciting, and there was non-stop entertainment. There was so much to do that we never got around to experiencing all the ship had to offer.  Our cabin was very nice.  While not large, it was bright, clean, and very well maintained.  And I don't want to forget the shower; with their curved sliding glass doors, they were the best ever on a cruise ship.A major reason we cruise is for the food, and here we were not disappointed.  We were first seating on deck five, and our Waiter, Paul, and Assistant Waiter, Francisco, were absolutely fabulous!  They spoiled us night after night, with special treats for our granddaughter, our favorite drinks served without asking, and their responsiveness to our requests.  Paul was also very familiar with the menu, and night after night he steered us towards the best items on the menu.  Dinner in the main dining room was slightly better than on Princess (which is considerably better than NCL), with entrees being about equal to slightly better in quality, while the desserts on the Liberty were MUCH better than on any of our Princess cruises.  The Windjammer Buffet was also very good, with better overall quality than with Princess, but with less selection.  Also, we were so disappointed that the buffet was not open 24/7.  While we enjoyed the Promenade Cafe and Sorrento's, we missed the variety of a buffet when we went for late night snacks.  My only disappointment with the food on the Liberty, was at Johnny Rocket's.  While the fries and onion rings were very good, the burgers were a huge disappointment, with small, dry, tasteless beef patties.  After all of the rave reviews of Johnny Rocket's, we wanted to say that not everyone who has eaten there were as enthusiastic. Our family never had a problem finding entertainment.  The kids loved the pools and H2O Zone; the rock-climbing wall was a lot of fun (and quite a challenge), the production shows were very good (although overall not quite as good as with Princess), there were two comedians who both were very good, the ice skating show was FANTASTIC, the casino was large and not overly greedy, and the Promenade was a lot of fun.  The promenade was a really nice place to go for diversion; it actually feels like you're outdoors, browsing through shops and restaurants (without the bugs).  We all loved going there, grabbing a bite to eat, chatting and people watching. The destinations, St Maarten, Puerto Rico, and Labadee, were nice; the weather was partially overcast every day, but it was warm and comfortable (and not too humid).Overall, a fantastic trip, on our new favorite cruise line, and our new favorite ship.
