From the beginning we did not have a great experience at embarkation in Miami. It took at least 30 minutes waiting in line just to check our passports. Then we went through security which took another 25 minutes. But wait the fun was just beginning! On our other cruise line we are allowed to have wine under 750 ML at no corkage fee. NOT NCL it would have been $15 per bottle! So somewhere in Miami the security guards had some free wine. Then once we got through that we had at least an hour wait to check in and get our room key and show them once again our passports. Apparently the person at the desk can't take passports out of a leather holder so they have to hand it back to me to take it out of the holder. Seriously!!! No wonder why the lines are so long!!

Once we get on the ship my husband needed an extension cord for a medical device, the steward on this ship does not handle that like all other ships we go on. You have to go down to customer service and get one from them. Really?? That's when we realized what Freestyle cruising really means. YOU ARE ON YOUR Own.

Now lets get to the food in the buffet. Wow what a disappointment. We got our food then tried to find a seat. That sure was tough, I think we finally had to sit way out on the deck and by then our food was cold. We were use to getting waited on for our drinks tea, lemonade or coffee. Not on Norwegian!! You are on your own. Finally we just started eating all our meals in the Summer Palace restaurant. There food was much better then the buffet.
