Celebrity Cruise Line’s Reflection is the newest and largest of the Solstice Class Ships. She entered service in 2012 and holds 3,000 guests. It was our first time sailing on the Reflection, but it is very similar to the other Solstice Class Ships and we immediately felt comfortable with the layout. The ship exterior is extremely classy, decked out in white paint and dark blue trim. The public areas are sparkling clean and well maintained. I can’t say enough about friendliness of the crew, they provide some of the best service afloat. The officers are mostly Greek and a majority of the staff is Eastern European. Safety and health are taken seriously and the life boat drill is required for all passengers. The Captain also stresses hand washing, and hand sanitizers are located throughout the ship.

DINING. Opus Restaurant (Main Dining Room - MDR): We had select dining for the evening meal. After the first few nights we were able to have the same table / wait staff with our friends around 7:15 p.m. The food and service in the dining room was very good. Some meals were better than others, but overall it was a really nice dining experience. Whenever possible, we ate breakfast in the MDR as we don’t like having to fight the crowds in the Oceanview Cafe. We also enjoyed some lunches in the MDR – a very relaxed atmosphere. Oceanview Café (Buffet): Station style with section for Salads, Mains, Carving meats, Asian/Indian, Italian/Pizza, Sandwiches and Ice cream. Food presentation and high quality ingredients make for one of the best buffets of any cruise line. The Asian, and make your own stir fry is wonderful.

ENTERTAINMENT / ENRICHMENT. The Reflection Theatre is the venue for most major entertainment and lectures. The ship also has, Celebrity Central, a smaller venue for movies and presentations. Early in the cruise there were two performances by a group called “The Tenors of Rock”. Probably one of the best groups we have ever seen at sea! Unfortunately, they got off the ship in Europe and were headed to Las Vegas for one of the big casinos. I’m sure they are headed for stardom and we won’t be seeing them again on the ship circuit. The other evening / matinee entertainment was the typical cruise ship fare, ships singers & dancers, comedian, singers, juggler etc. – nothing really great.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 2C

Cabin 2C

We had a balcony cabin on deck seven near the forward elevators. The cabin, (194 sq ft) was nicely appointed with a large sofa, TV, frig and safe. The bathrooms have a half round shower with sliding doors and a lot of storage space. Cabin storage is adequate but most people have an issue with the over bed storage cabinets as they are little difficult to use. The cabin attendant did a really good job of keeping everything clean, neat and tidy.
