This was our first Celebrity Cruise, 14th October, Japan to Hong Kong. Check in was very efficient on board less than 30 minutes after arriving at Port, very efficient and well organised. Arriving on board greeted with a glass of champagne, nice touch and very welcome. While sitting drinking the champagne was regularly pestered to upgrade to Premium Package which we already had, would be better if there was a area offering this service rather than be constantly approached by staff trying to sell you the upgrade, we were approached about 10 times in 15 minutes. We then went to the Buffet for a light lunch, first impressions were good and it was fairly quiet. Sadly the Buffet became very repetitive and crowded, quite a disappointment and like Buffets on most other ships each side was not a mirror image which made certain items difficult to find. Table service of drinks was very hit and miss. Main Lunch was only available from 12 noon to 2pm, this was a very short window, 12 till 3 like most other lines would be better. Roast meats tended to be on the tough side. We had free time dining, we booked our table on line for each evening and it was always available when we arrived service was excellent as was the choice of wines. Menu was not as interesting/adventurous as we were expecting. Al the crew and staff were very friendly and approachable. We enjoyed most of the entertainment but as thus is an area of personal taste, it is not fair to comment. Stateroom was a balcony was very comfortable and spacious. Ports were varied and interesting. Overall we did not feel that Celebrity lived up to its rating at best we would say 3.5. We would not rush to use the line again as it seems poor value for money.

Does not live up to its rating
