Cruised on NCL Jade out of Venice on October 22, 2016. Three factors influenced our decision for this cruise... Santorini, Venice and price. With only those 3 in mind, this cruise was wonderful. But when ports, ship, staff, food, entertainment, etc. are added in, this became an average cruise but one which we enjoyed a lot.

We arrived in Venice by car and stayed 2 nights, exploring Venice all day Saturday. The weather on Saturday was perfect. Sunday's weather was foggy and cool. We arrived at the port about 12:30 and hoped to eat lunch as soon as we were on board. Embarkation was smooth until we completed check-in and found out we had to wait for our number to be called before we could board. An hour later, we were on board and starving. Why does NCL make you wait to board?

Our first food encounter on the ship was the Garden Cafe. It was very crowded and offered an unimpressive food selection. However, the quality of what I did eat was good. We ended up eating here about 5 times, but only breakfast and lunch.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IA

2 beds and a bunk. Just enough room for 3 adults to be cozy and work around each other.

Port Reviews

Dubrovnik

Took the local bus into town. Easy. Went up the cable car. Great view. Walked the city but not the walls. Will do that next time.

Venice

You need a minimum of one day to tour Venice, Murano and Burano. Buy the one day boat ticket.

Split

Okay to walk around and explore. Will do something different next time.
