I was offered a 2-night cruise for two for $118 with open dates to book. I was offered many upgrades and chose to stay 2 nights at the Ramada in Ft. Lauderdale since I was coming off a 10-hour drive from Destin, FL. I also upgraded to a 2-night stay at the Grand Lucayan Resort, which is owned by the cruise line. In order to get your boarding pass you had to drive to a resort 45 mins away and sit through a 2-hr high pressure timeshare that turned into 6 hours. They then gave you your boarding pass. Be careful what they promise you....I am still waiting for my $100 gas reimbursement. Be careful of the hidden charges!!!! While at the Grand Lucayan Resort the food was terrible. All the fish was like card board, because it was deep fried too long. I got what I thought was a chicken thigh, took one bite and spit it out. Turned over what I thought was a thigh, that wasn't...It was definitely a lower torso of a tiny rodent of some sort....I bolted and ran out of the restaurant. The captain of the ship was Russian, so was some of the crew, but most of them were from Indonesia....I chose to pay for my dinner on my birthday 9/11 and dined at the Admirals Club, the finest on the ship. Making friends with the servers there from Indonesia and the manager from Russia, was the only good thing of the whole trip...I went back on my last night on the ship....DON'T EAT THE CHICKEN!
