We sailed on the Valor- needed a short cruise to see if my sister in law liked to cruise before she committed to sailing Alsaka this summer. Had been on the Valor before and was looking forward to returning to her. I have never sailed on this short of a cruise (4 day) before, so maybe that had something to do with the vibe of the ship. Although she has been re furbed, she seemed tired. Our Freeport port was cancelled due to Hurrican Matthew so we overnighted in Nassau. Not my favorite port. With that being said, I had also not cruised on Carnival for a few years as we had been cruising another line. This was my 13th cruise, so I know what to expect. The trip left me underwhelmed. Others in a FB froup felt the same, something was off and the word bring was used extensively by many. I noticed the overall decline in food and crew friendliness as well as other cutbacks. Our room steward and waiters were wonderful. But, the cruise was fine- just adequate, not memorable and fun loving as I have come to expect. Not a bad cruise, but by far not a great one. Not sure I will sail with Carnival nor the Valor again.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8F

Loved the location of the cabin, not a myriad of halls and rooms. No need to worry about noise from the Lido decks, you cannot hear a thing!. Close to everything.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Nassau needs to step up their game, the port is dreary and dirty. Not many things to choose to do there. Could be a great destination with some thought.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

OK to embark from, although not my favorite.

Room steward was good, have not sailed Carnival in awhile, the buffet now reminds me of a Golden Corral as far as quality. Was a cruise, nothing special...Would I go again, sure if the price was right...
