O.K it's a few years since we cruised from Bergen to Kirkeness and return to Bergen via the Lofoten Islands. Disappointment comes if you expect to be on a typical cruise ship. This is a ferry that takes passengers. The line has been operating for more than 100 years and began as a ferry that took a few passengers. Now it seems things are reversed and the main income is from passengers.
This creates a problem as they don't seem to be sure what area they should concentrate on.
The ship may call at up to 6 ports a day, but some of the stops are only about 15 minutes. Major towns (there are no cities) may mean a few hours. This upsets folk who did not do sufficient research when booking the trip (it is not a cruise). People hop and hop off the ship and it's not unusual to see young people curled up in the most unusual places in their sleeping bag. REMEMBER, IT IS A FERRY.
