Sail Date: Oct 2016

We have sailed on Glory three times over last 5 years and just returned from what I know will be the last. We love the itinerary as we are snorkelers and this is one of the best cruises for that. And the weather cooperated so all should have been great and on the past 2 trips it was everything we hoped and paid for. This time it barely met expectations. Price was slightly higher than 2 years ago when food was fabulous and staff was very attentive; so we had high hopes but this trip was like a bad dream.

On the plus side our cabin steward was great and the cabin clean. The Lido was a cross between Golden Choral and Piccadilly Cafeteria. They have added a burger bar with greasy overcooked burgers served cold; when I asked for a hot off the grill they said to come back later that it was an assembly line process and when the current batch were taken they would cook up some more. They also added something they call Comfort Food which is the equivalent of a quick run through the frozen entree section of a supper market! I don't cruise to eat frozen chicken fingers, mashed potato and mac & cheese every day. The Carvery side was slightly more interesting only it did not taste good! Dinner in the dinning room was not much more creative and also bland. A number of people were complaining about the food and the service was very slow. * PM dinner lasted until 10:00 and one night we did not get served until nearly 9 :00 and it was so cold when it came up we sent it back.

The entertainment was seriously lacking and there was virtually no activities other than drinking on sea days. The ship is a bit run down and the guest services staff was rude; ineffective and lacked any interest in their job.Excursions were over price and oversold! The entire cruise experience was unfortunately very second rate!
