This has to be the most disappointing cruise I have ever been on. I am a 'Platinum Member' in the Captains Circle and opted for a guarantee cabin. I asked for an Oceanview cabin. I booked this cruise in April 2016. Several weeks before the cruise I was allocated Cabin # E102, which, when I looked it up, it seem to look very pleasant. Big mistake!! It did say that the cabin 'could accommodate' up to 4 people but what it failed to mention was that there were 2 massive bunk beds stuck on the wall either side of our bed. Subsequently, both me and my husband had to bend down from the foot of the bed to the head end bent down. AND to add insult to injury, we banged our heads on the hideous bunk beds when we got up in the night to visit the bathroom. Also, there was no view of the ocean, only people jogging or walking past our window, so therefore we had to keep our curtains closed. When we first saw the cabin we immediately went to the front desk to complain. We were told there was nothing they could do and that they were full up and we would have to wait until we arrived in Barcelona, our first port of call, to see if there were any other cabins became available. Therefore I refused to unpack our cases until we arrived there. Our cabin was opposite the Crews' quarters and they were noisy and all we could smell was cigarette smoke. 5 days later, after we departed Barcelona, we were told to wait until we arrived in Civitavecchia. The Front desk were rude and very unhelpful and even though we know that some people went off the ship due to illness, we were not offered another cabin.

The entertainment was awful. All the Entertainments Manager told us was to go to the disco on deck 17. They allowed smoking, seemed most nights, in the Casino and had to leave almost immediately as it was chocking. Got nothing against smokers, as I was one myself years ago, but felt it was wrong to allow it in a small confined area. The only person who was absolutely lovely was our Cabin Steward, Andy.

After sending a complaint to the Customer Services of Princess, all they did was apologise and hoped that we would sail with them again. Some hope! We didn't even get a voucher or a free upgrade for another cruise.

Barcelona

Lovely place to visit. We went independently. Visited Barcelona before.

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Went independently. Visited Ajaccio before. Very pretty.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Didnt go to Rome. Have stayed there many times. Fantastic city to visit. We only got off and walked around Civitavecchia. It was okay.

Florence (Livorno)

We just went to Livorno independently. Nice place to visit and have a coffee. Have already visited Florence and Pisa.

Marseille

Marseille is okay but the people were quite rude.

Gibraltar

I only got off to buy some perfume. Feel like I am walking down the High Street where I live.

Southampton

Only went to Southampton to board ship.
