We booked this cruise somewhat last minute(for us anyway). Loved that it sailed out of Venice where we hadn't been before and had a good itinerary. We stayed at the Best Western Titian Inn near the airport for two days before and after the cruise and did some exploring. They were convenient to the bus for Venice and we found the hotel clean, the staff helpful and the breakfast good. Embarkation was super fast as we had a suite but would have been just fine even if we hadn't. Disembarkation was just as good, we left the ship at 8.20 which was the exact time for our number and our luggage was waiting for us in neat lines at the correct spot. The Vision of the Seas is the smallest ship we have sailed on but it was certainly easy to get around. We thought it was in pretty good shape for it's age and was certainly kept clean with the exception of some of the public washrooms by the end of the evening. Contrary to what a lot of of folks say we found the staff very friendly and were always greeted with a smile. We were very happy with the suite and found it had loads of cupboards and hanging space for our clothes. The bathroom was much bigger and had a real bathtub.Bonus! Our steward Zoe kept it neat and clean but never did provide the wineglass we asked for when meeting her. After two days of asking we just took one from dinner! After all we are allowed to bring two bottles of wine on board. We did two ship excursions, one in Kotor and the other in Corfu. Our Mykonos trip to Delos was cancelled due to rough seas.We just explored the town instead. Both of the excursions were well run and departed and returned on time.Athens we did ourselves, travelling into the city on the X 80 express bus and visiting the Acropolis, Plaka and Syntagma Square. For our last port, Argostoli, we did a private tour with Caesar's Taxi and were driven around the island by Constantinos. He is actually the owner of the company and did a great job showing us his beautiful island. Now to the not so good...Hubby and I splurged and went to Chops one night and Giovanni's Table the next. Chops was a disaster with one meal having to be sent back three times. The food and plates were stone cold. Giovanni's was way better and we enjoyed our dinner there very much. After our two specialty nights we returned to the main dining room and were very well looked after by Rayon and Romeo. The company was great and the food pretty good in most cases. We did find the menu a little uninspired some nights and had a bit of difficulty finding something interesting to eat. The biggest negative on this cruise was the entertainment. This was our fifth cruise with RCL and the first time we have been disappointed. It started off ok with a pair of acrobats who were quite good even if their show had no real surprises. The next night we missed the show but heard that it wasn't good. When we did go to the theatre,I think it was Boogie nights or something like that, the rcl singers were terrible and we were not able to sit through the whole show. The whole thing was not as good as I would expect from a high school presentaion. There was another headliner show which was very lame. Not sure if the guy was supposed to be a magician or a comedian but we found he was neither. We still had a great week aboard the Vision and met some great people. The bad was outweighed by the good. I would sail with RCL again, in fact we are next month.
