Cabin: Outside Twin with Shower (Part-Obstucted View)

We are seasoned cruisers and our first time on this ship. The public areas are very good but the cabins are old and shabby and in desperate need of a makeover. Ours D601 was cramped and dirty, the remote control and the phone covered in dust and something splattered on the wall picture. The drawers were rickety and bashed about and looking out of our obscured view window ( I knew we had one ) we had rusty paintwork. The shower was very feeble. I did not complain as I did not want to get the cabin steward in trouble - they work incredibly hard and are under a lot of time pressure. having said that, my sister's balcony cabin was better. We were fortunate enough not to contract Norovirus which occurred on this voyage, the staff were on this immediately and put measures in place to resolve it. Towards the end of the cruise the situation was resolved, but we never found out how many were affected. I somewhat resent the Captain's assertion that a passenger may have brought it on board- this could be true but have since learned that the ship failed a hygiene inspection earlier this year. We did enjoy the cruise, good destinations, entertainment and food but come on P and O, you are in danger of losing your place in my affections as my favourite cruise line.
