The embarkation was delayed because the ship had to relocate due to a imminent cyclone. We had to stay overnight in Kanazawa and travelled by bus to the new port of departure and were welcomed by the Captain and officers, taken to our cabin and as we departed, invited to an excellent brunch in the buffet.

L'Austral is a small luxury cruise ship which has been designed with beautiful interiors, colours and furnishings both in the general areas and the cabins. The Gastronomic Restaurant was outstanding with wonderful meals and wines and the Grill the place to go for breakfast and lunch.

The Main Lounge apart from an excellent bar service, provided evening entertainment, music, and later in the night, dancing after the show. The shows were terrific, with excellent dance, sound and stage performances.

Cabin Review

Cabin Prestige Stateroom

From the leather covered wardrobe doors and drawers, to the Pierre Frey fabrics used in cushions and bed covering, I found the overall effect to be most elegant. Quality linens and towels changed daily.

Bathroom had magnifying mirror and enough storage space.

Verandah is small but adequate to use if weather permits.
