First of all, if I had NOT been in the Royal Suite I may have rated this cruise 4 stars (but never 5 stars). And this review is probably only helpful to those people looking to book something other than the least expensive cabin. Because you need to book the cheapest cabin you can.
Celebrity is our cruise line of choice and we like to sail in the larger suites. We do this not only because of the extra space but also because of the perks that go along with the larger suites. For this cruise we booked the Royal Suite. It was very expensive ( at least 8 times more that the lower fare). But if I had it to do over again I'd book the cheapest room.
I had read all the glorious reviews and even so I was well aware that this cruise was not going to be anything like our other cruises because of the size of the ship. We knew there wouldn't be many amenities. We were already prepared that the food wouldn't be as good. But even after those lower expectations, we both agreed that this was our least favorite cruise out of the other 9 we've taken on Celebrity. Part of the reason is that with the exception of the food and beverage staff, the service was very poor. We NEVER saw or had any way to contact our room attendant. And we needed her on several occasions. Customer Service was a joke. Of course we knew the internet would be poor but there was no internet for 4 of the 7 days and they really didn't seem concerned about fixing it.
Not worth the money. Cabin and bathroom are still very small. It was nice having a deck but you can't see out unless you are standing up because there is a big wall. There are no service features or perks associated with being in the Royal Suite. So save your money and book a less expensive room.
