We chose this cruise to celebrate our anniversary and my 65th birthday with the destination that she wanted to see since the late 1960's. We both wanted the beautiful scenery of the ports in Hawaii and since we are experienced cruisers we wanted a cruise that allowed for relaxation and wonderful and exotic ports.
The ship had poor signage and it was difficult to find places for the first two days. The entertainment was not as good as that we enjoyed on other ships. The dining was really much better in the main dining room than any ship that we have been on, and the staff in the dining room were exceptional, to mention a few, Fransiska (head waitress), Catalin (team waiter) and Rasmini (assistant waitress) as were the room stewards. The crew were like family and even though they worked hard, they were always patient and enthusiastic to all guests and to each other. The shops were a complete waste of time. The pricing was not good and there were no sales that made things better.
The ports and excursions were exceptional. Hawaii is a beautiful place with spectacular sights and a rich history and an exotic blend of cultures. The excursions were very enlightening in terms of history and knowledge imparted by the tour guides. Overall it was very expensive, but worth the cost of the trip. Also I had my first massage and was very impressed with the spa and staff. It was expensive as is the case for at sea services. The sea days were a bit too long together but it is a long voyage. Carnival gets my vote for best cruise line sailed.
As ship cabins go, the layout made the cabin seem very spacious and it was well lit and airy. The bathroom was convenient and the shower allowed a normal comfortable shower to be taken. The downside is that the bed was uneven and hard, making sleep difficult to have and we had some discomfort from the bed.
