We chose this cruise because of the ship, cost & itinerary.

We were on the Jade earlier this year and enjoyed it so much we thought we would try this one-off itinerary which took us to some new destinations. This was the first half of the Winter Re-positioning Cruise as the Jade was on its way to Tampa via Barcelona, etc.

We spent a few days in Venice before the cruise and another in Barcelona after we disembarked. These were a great way to top and tail what was a fantastic cruise.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin was in excellent condition and we had no noise to worry about. Our steward Gina was fantastic.

The Jade balcony rooms are a little smaller than other ships we have been on but still very comfortable with loads of storage space.

Port Reviews

Venice

Had a great time exploring the various landmarks

Zadar

Nice place but not spectacular, didn't have time to explore beaches or leave the town centre. Not as immediately impressive as either Split or Dubrovnik.

Kotor

The approach into Kotor was staggering as we silently cruised through the fog.

Took a taxi tour to Budva and then Perast. We were impressed by the beauty of every location we visited. Would certainly like to return and spend more time here.

Corfu

Corfu is starting to look run-down. We were disappointed by the excessive graffiti and clutter. Having visited Corfu several years ago is it a shame to see what the financial troubles have done to Greece.

Taormina (Messina)

Took the train along the coast to Taormina which was one of the nicest villages I have visited - well recommended.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Purchased a BIRG ticket at the shop in the Civitavecchia station for 12 Euro - this included a return train ticket to Rome and all-day bus & Metro access.

Rome is fantastic but you really need a few days to see all the best landmarks. However, we managed to visit the Colosseum, Forum (best place), Pantheon & Trevi Fountain while walking around. We pre-purchased the Colosseum tickets which allowed quicker access.
